Last year alone, they took in 7,422 animals and only adopted out approximately 700.  This means that 6,700 otherwise healthy, adoptable animals were euthanized!  We would like to see this shelter become a "no-kill shelter" but they simply do not have the monetary, nor material resources to house all of the animals.  Let's help them be able to become a no-kill shelter!  My favorite pet, Curtis came from this shelter and I simply can't imagine him having to be euthanized before I was able to adopt him because of no resources to care of him at the shelter!  So let's make this happen for my pets, your pets and any pet you've ever loved!
The shelter needs money, towels, bleach, blankets, canned dog and cat food, bowls, dishwashing soap, laundry soap and list goes on.  You can also "buy a brick" for a loved pet.  What this means is that you can have your pet's name engraved in a brick with some words of your choice in memory of your pet; the brick is placed on the walkway to the front door of the shelter.  The cost for the brick is $50.00.
